David brings 35 years of financial services and entrepreneurial experience to Destra Capital’.
He began his financial services career with Federated Investors in 1986; he also worked for Kemper Financial Services, SEI, and Van Kampen Investments. David joined Destra Capital in the Fall of 2012, covering LA and San Francisco. In 2018, he moved to Pennsylvania to manage the Mid-Atlantic states for Destra.
Outside of financial services, David spent three years living in Asia. He managed the Emerging Markets Division for Global Sources, where he opened markets in South Africa, Indonesia, Mexico, India, and Turkey.
In addition, David was Co-founder and President of the business brokerage firm Sunbelt Advisors Inc. He also Co-Founded 3PL Global, LLC., a third-party logistics firm in Southern, CA.
He volunteered as an “Entrepreneur in Secession” at Cal State Fullerton’s, Entrepreneur Program, where he mentored both undergraduate and graduate students as they created startup business ventures. For six years, David served the Waldorf School of Orange County as the Chairman of the school’s Endowment and a member of the Board of Trustees.
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, David earned a BS in Marketing from Robert Morris University (Pittsburgh, PA) and an MBA in International Business from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. (Phoenix, AZ).
Currently, David lives in Phoenixville, PA, with his wife Diana and their dog Mad Max. David & Diana have been married for 30 years; they have two grown sons. Outside of work, David enjoys reading, working on home improvement projects, hiking, biking, paddle boarding and snow skiing.
